Care Plans

Website Maintenance Packages

Three fixed-price plans — $150 to $750 a month — cover backups, security patching, bug fixes, and monitoring so your site stays fast and secure long after launch. Month-to-month billing, no annual contract, cancel anytime with 30 days' notice.

Website maintenance and care plan monitoring dashboard
Built on a real foundation

Care plans keep what's already there current.

Every Virtual Online project already ships with a secure, owned foundation. A care plan doesn't replace that — it keeps it patched, backed up, monitored, and reported on every month after launch.

  • SSL certificate (HTTPS) on every site
  • Core Web Vitals performance tuning
  • Spam-protected forms
  • 100% code and content ownership — no lock-in, ever
Why it matters

Six things you stop worrying about

Skip maintenance and sites get hacked, go down, lose rankings, and slow down. Every plan below exists to make sure none of that happens.

Security patches, applied fast

Framework and dependency updates go out as they're released, not batched into a quarterly cleanup — fewer windows for a known vulnerability to get exploited.

Automated daily backups

Every plan backs up your database and files daily, stored off the main server, so a bad deploy or a compromised host never takes your backups down with it.

Uptime + performance monitoring

Automated checks watch uptime around the clock. Growth and Priority add Core Web Vitals and SEO monitoring, so a slow page or a dropped ranking gets caught in days, not next quarter.

Bug fixes without a ticket queue

Something breaks, you message us, we fix it inside your included hours — no support portal, no waiting on a ticket number.

Monthly reporting

Growth and Priority plans get a written monthly report — uptime, Core Web Vitals, security-scan results, and a log of what changed and why.

Month-to-month, no lock-in

Every plan bills monthly with no annual contract. Cancel with 30 days' notice and keep 100% of your code and content.

Compare plans

Three plans, one straight answer for what's included

Every plan bills monthly, month-to-month, cancel anytime. The difference is response time, included hours, and how deep the monitoring goes.

Choose Essential Choose Growth Choose Priority

Launch-tier sites usually start on Essential. Business Pro and Commerce sites tend to land on Growth. Custom Platform builds — see custom web application development — default to Priority for the staging environment and quarterly audits from day one. Full one-time project pricing is on the pricing page.

The fine print, plainly stated

What counts as a change request?

Your included edit hours cover the everyday stuff: swap a product photo, update a price, fix a typo, adjust a form field, troubleshoot a broken link. If it takes under an hour and doesn't need new design or new code architecture, it's a change request — message us and it gets done.

A new page, a redesign, a booking system, a payment integration — that's feature work, not maintenance. We scope and quote it separately, or bill it at the $40/hour ad-hoc rate if it's small (the one deliberately hourly line in everything we sell — every project itself stays fixed-price). Either way, we tell you which bucket a request falls into before we start, so your invoice never surprises you.

Add-ons

Need more than what's included?

One-off work outside your plan's scope, priced flat — except the one thing that's genuinely hourly.

Inherited a site you didn't build?

Start with a Rescue Audit, not a guess.

Before we put an unfamiliar codebase on a care plan, we run a fixed-price Laravel Rescue Audit — $1,900, 5 business days — covering security vulnerabilities, server configuration, dependency health, and performance. You get a prioritized written report and a fixed-price quote for anything that needs fixing, then roll straight into whichever plan above fits what we find.

FAQ

Maintenance — your questions

What's a change request, how billing works, and what happens when something breaks.

Do you maintain websites you didn't build?
Yes. Most of our care-plan clients come to us with a site someone else built. Before you commit to a plan, we run a Rescue Audit — $1,900 fixed price, 5 business days — covering security, performance, and code quality, so you know exactly what you're inheriting. We maintain custom-coded Laravel, Next.js, and Astro sites, not page-builder installs.
What counts as a change request versus new feature work?
A change request is a bounded task inside your included edit hours: swap a photo, update a price, fix a broken link, patch a bug. New feature work — a new page section, a booking system, a redesign — gets scoped and quoted separately, or billed at the $40/hour ad-hoc rate if it's small. We tell you which bucket a request falls into before starting, never after.
What happens if I go over my included hours in a month?
Extra work above your plan's included hours bills at the $40/hour ad-hoc rate, and we confirm the estimate before starting — no surprise invoice. If you're routinely running over, that's usually a sign to move up a tier, and we'll tell you plainly if that's the case instead of just billing more every month.
Is there a contract, or can I cancel anytime?
Month-to-month billing, no annual contract. Cancel anytime with 30 days' notice — no cancellation fee. If you cancel, you keep 100% of the code and content; nothing is held hostage.
What's actually in the monthly report?
Growth and Priority plans get a written report every month covering uptime, Core Web Vitals scores, security-scan results, and a summary of what we worked on and why — built so you can see the plan earning its keep, not just a dashboard screenshot.
What happens if my site goes down or gets hacked?
All three plans include uptime and security monitoring, so we're usually alerted before you notice a problem. Priority-plan sites get a same-day response and a direct emergency contact line; Essential and Growth get a 2-business-day and 1-business-day response. Cleanup and restoration from backup are included — no emergency rescue fee on top of your plan.
